2012 Solar eclipse, taken north of Marysville, CA. Canon EOS 5D MkII, 300mm. Used a welding mask for a filter.
Image on the left is at the peak of the eclipse from where I stood. If you look close enough, you can actually see the irregularities along the surface of the moon. The right image is after the eclipse, showing the sun. The black spots are sunspots.
